I have a 90 gt and have a problem with the car overheating. the temperture consistently rises and almost reached red the other day. it does this in about ten minutes and when it gets really hot makes a pinging sound. the oil level is fine but i do have a blown head gasket now because of it. i just replaced the thermostat and that didnt seem to do anything. so im stumped. anyone got any idea?

i need my car fixed really soon. i deliver so i really need to have my car to continue to make money. thanx.

Your radiator could also be clogged. Flush it while ur changing ur head gasket as all the fluid is most likely contaminated.

Are you sure the overheating caused the blown head gasket or did the blown head gasket cause the overheating? You definately won't be able to tell if it is fixed until you fix everything. I'd start off with the new head gaskets and head bolts, flush the cooling system, check the thermostat (or swap to 180*), check the fan clutch (or swap to electric), inspect the radiator, and get some fresh coolant (try using distilled water instead of tap water).

EXACTLY!!!! We just covered this yesterday with Strype. CORNYMOFO......Read the thread he started. Sorry, I noticed your a newbie....but we did talk the Strype about this, he may have it fixed by now.

WHEN TRYING TO SOLVE AN OVERHEATING PROBLEM....REPLACE ALLLLLLLLL PARTS...INCLUDING A 25 DOLLAR REPLACEMENT WATER PUMP THAT TAKES LESS THAN AN HOUR TO CHANGE!!!!!
