Well folks I figured out what causing my major problems trying to time my car, it ended up being the Autozone harmonic balancer. It was cracked all the way through in 2 places where it bolts to the crank snout causing the balancer to spin itself 90* out. I have been turning wrenches for 23 years and this one had me puzzled for a while. I knew something didn't look right when the timing marks were inches away from where they were when I timed it last.

Thanks everybody

Wow, we should probably merge the two threads.

BTW - good to hear you found your problem. What did you replace it with? Please tell me not another stock balancer.

I bought a Pioneer from www.strokermotor.com after going through a couple different stock balancers.
