Hey guys, Im converting my 89 5.o to 5 lug and I am using the master cylinder and proportioning valve from a 95 cobra. Heres my problem; I need to put the fittings that came with the cobra mc onto the existing brake lines. The only problem is that ford (for some retarted reason im sure) made a different type of flare on the end of the line. I cant duplicate that flare with my tools, so what would work here? I really need help...thanks alot

You can't use the Cobra prop valve to meter the brake bias. It's unsafe. You need to guy the stock prop valve and run an aftermarket prop valve for brake bias.

No no, use the '95 MC and your stock FOX prop valve.

I just realized the '95 Cobra MC may have different threads and the GT MC that i have, so what i did may not apply to you. I'll let someone else chime in.

If you had a '95 GT MC, you would need a 3-2 port conversion which is a t-fitting. You would gut the stock MC using the Ford plug and run an aftermarket prop valve to dial in the brake bias.

Here is the plug and prop valve you would need. I beleive i paid $9 for the plug from SUmmit and $45 for the prop valve new on Ebay.

Here are the 3-2 conversion kits

But keep in mind what i did was for a GT MC. I am not 100% sure on the steps needed with a Cobra MC.

But i do know you shouldn't use the cobra prop valve for brake bias. It's useless unless it's on the original cobra. That's why you should gut the stock prop valve and run an aftermarket

your gonna need a new cap for the stock prop valve the stock one has a rubber thing in the end of it and once you've hulled it nothing keeps that thing from coming out. i realized this day before yesterday when mine shot out like a rocket. any way ford racing doesn't make solid caps any more and the only thing i can think to do is drill and tap the hole and put a cap screw in it

When you hull the factory prop valve you have to take off the nut/plug thing on the front of it. You are supposed to replace it with a frpp plug. The difference is the frpp plug is solid where as the stock one (at least on mine) has a rubber thing in the center of it. If you dont do something about that rubber plug it will shoot out causeing you to lose brake pressure
