I have the car apart and I'm using a snap on leakdown tester. Anyways, I have it all hooked up and I'm running the 100psi like it says. I'm then checking if I hear air and seeing where it's coming from. I'm also looking at the guage that tells me the % of how much I'm losing. Well, it's showing I'm not losing anything....
I can hear air coming out of the crankcase but that's going to happen, atleast that's what the manual says. The % gauge sits at about 5% but pretty much stays relative to the pressure guage adjuster.

Am I doing this correctly? The directions only state to bring pressure up to 100psi with the pressure guage and then check for air leaks and %lost from the other guage.

I would be more worried if you were getting significant loss as opposed to being worried by minimal loss. Ford spec for allowable leakdown is 20%... So like I said, dont be too concerned. If youre following the instructions right I wouldnt be too worried. Try all the cylinders and see what you come up with.

Well, I did all the cylinders and they came out right around 5%. I was just worried I did the testing wrong, but apparently I didn't. Now I get to ponder on my "heads" situation. Thanks for the response.
