I live in Virginia Beach, and have been looking for weeks for a shop to work on my 66. Mainly to replace the left rocker panel, core support, and check the frame (minor front end collision). Most of the places have told me they don't do antiques, period. Of the few that will, one has a two year waiting list (and estimated 20K without even seeing the car), and the others never return my calls (I'm not going to pay $$$ for someone who never calls back). While I can drive the car, I don't really want to comb the city with it (no turn signals, minor oil leaks, needs new brakes, ect). I guess my other option would be to have the car shipped somewhere, but that could be ~500.00 per trip, and I hate not being able to check in on the progress. Anybody know a shop or private body guy they can recommend in the Hampton Roads or Upper North Carolina area? I'm open to any ideas. I even thought about taking a welding and auto body class at the local communtiy college, but this is not the vehicle I want to "practice" on.
