Ok, It's a 302 H.O. Completely stock engine. I will be hopefully completing the full rebuild tomorrow (finally got some time to work on it). So I have everything pretty much completely assembled. There are just a few things left That I am lost..--The engine was disammebled when I purchased it--I am not a complete moron. :)
1. Anyways he labeled one of the hoses-lower water pump hose to plastic fitting. Not sure where the lower water pump hose conects too.
2. There is a threaded hole on the lower intake . Not sure if a sensor was there or what. THe part is missing? It's on the passenger side on the front of the intake, about 1 to 1 3/4 inch diameter threaded hole.
3.There are two hoses (They look like coolant lines, but may be vacuum lines.) on the plenum. One protuding from each side of the plenum (upper intake) right behind, or maybe even on, the throttle body.
Also there are 3 more attached to and coming out from under neath the rear of the plenum that I also am not sure of.
4.Lastly, I have one bar that I don't know where it goes. It looks like a stove handle in shape. It's about 3 inches long and maybe 1/2 thick in diameter.

All help is greatly appreciated, and I hope to have this running Tomorrow, or maybe early net week.

This might help you a little as you put stuff back together.

Good luck.

1) The lower hose goes from the water pump to the radiator. Unless he means the lower of the bypass hoses -- in which case it goes to the heater tube on the lower intake.

2) That is for your Coolant Temp Sensor (not to be confused with the one for your gauge).

3) The front goes from the front of the intake to the same heater pipe in #1. The rear goes from the back of the upper intake to a fitting in the lower intake near the PCV.

4) Sounds likea factory reinforcement for the upper to lower intake. Most people just get rid of it.

Hey great pic. I already have it saved from yesterday.
Great info 89Mustang, VERY helpfull. However, I'm a little comfused about the reinforcement bar. Does it bolt on the heavy side of the plenum to the lower intake or something?
Also, I probably just didn't pay attention. But I don't remember seeing a heater tube on the lower intake?

If it's the bar I'm thinking of -- it bolts on the very back of the intake, upper to lower. I don't know how to describe exactly where it is, but it's the very back towards the middle. Again -- not critical, don't think I've ever seen any other intakes have them, and even the factory ones end up with them removed (they're a pain!).

As for the heater tube -- it would be the tube that goes to your heater core.

I actually slightly mispoke earlier. Your Coolant Temp Sensor fits in your heater tube, and your heater tube fits in that spot on your intake you are talking about. If you do not have a heater tube -- THEN the sensor would go in there (with an adapter), and you would plug that spot on the water pump. Note -- you will not have any heat this way.

You will see it in the picture linked above -- it's a black tube that runs the length of the intake.

yea. I think I have that tube. I'll take a closer look tomorrow. Thanks again.
One more question, The guy lost the harmonic balancer washer. All I have is the bolt. Do you know if I can go to the hardware store and buy a regulaur washer or a lock washer? Or would I be better off going to the performance shop and buying the balancer bolt kit?

I don't really know on the balancer. My own feelings -- I don't like to just get generic bolts and whatnot for specific items like that. I'd rather go to a junkyard and grab it than go to a hardware store. But I'm not really sure...

Just got back in - Very nice info Adam. :nice:

I agree with Adam on the HB washer. The thing is you ideally need one that fits around the shank of the bolt very well. If it doesnt, when the bolt is tightened, the washer can end up being off-center, which wont end the world, but is not ideal. The stock washer is also pretty thick, IIRC. It is worth it to hit a J/Y or dealer/resto house IMHO, and get the real deal. It is just a flat washer too - not a lock washer.

Good luck.
