Do Not remove the quads unless you have to, it won't make your car hook any better and you could encounter wheel hop problems which can cause stuff to break.
Get an aftermarket set of upper and lower control arms.
Good shocks will help, like a 70/30-90/10 front and a 50/50 for the rear. A good set of drag radials or slicks may be the best money you ever spend, But don't forget to upgrade other things first like axles and torque boxes.
Stock v8 rear springs are probably the best spring for traction. Definatly don't put lowering springs in and think it's going to hook better.
