need help! installing bilstein shocks!

I am trying to install the rear shocks and feel like I have everything setup correctly but how do you prevent the shock from spinning when tightening down the top nut. I have everything else tightened except that but it just keeps spinning. Im obviously missing or doing something wrong.....

Grab the top of the rod with a pair of vice grips and loosen the nut.

figured out there was a allen hole in the top, never even saw it.......
