Need Help NOW! Bullitt pedal install

Well, i got the dead pedal, the clutch and brake pedals on. I removed the gas pedal assembly and drove out the retaining pin on the back of the pedal... Now i cant install the new pedal because the pin wont go back through the metal pedal assembly. I'm pounding on the thing and its not moving an inch, but i pounded on it before and it went through. What am i doing wrong?!?!

I use a small press on mine.

I filed it down ever so slightly on the end to get it started in the hole...it is a tight fit.

I drilled the hole just a tad bit larger and the pin went in with ease and with just enough bite so it wont slip out. I think I used a 3/16 bit. Check before you drill.

Lube it up! Worked for mine

It's been awhile since I did mine on the GT but I remember it being a splined push pin. make sure the splines are lined up.

Well, i decided, to hell with it and went and got a 5mm bolt with a lock nut and put it on that way.. Much easier,a nd if i ever need to take it off for some reason, it will be much easier..
