so my 302 is in need of an upgrade, and i've already decided upon the edelbrock performer rpm intake. the question is, whats the best carb to go with it. im not too keen on carbs, which is why i was thinking about getting the 570cfm street avenger, with the electric choke, and easy adjustments, i was put under the impression they're nearly foolproof. on the other hand, and at about the same cost, the BG road demon in a 625 looks pretty good as well. the problem is i hear they require a lot of attention, and are not exactly "noob friendly".

if your asking yourself why im looking at such small carbs, it's because it's for my 52 ford f-100 that has a 2bbl 78 mustang 302 in it, and seeing how it'll really just be a cruiser (though power is def not taking a back seat), i'm not gonna need extremely high end parts. i plan on throwing my headers on after this and calling it good on the motor, if that helps any. thanks guys

in my opinion, since you are not very experienced with carbs, you would be better off with an edelbrock 600cfm. They are more "fool-proof" than any holley or other brand because the adjustments are very simple, with little mess. The only thing you will really have to worry about is making sure your fuel pressure is under 6psi. I love the edelbrock carbs even though a lot of people think they lack in power, I disagree, and I have found the gas mileage is noticeably better with an edelbrock 100% of the time.
