I searched other posts and didn't find the answer. First what year did ford switch from the 28oz to the 50oz balancers. I currently have a 87 302ho motor in my 67 but I'm building a dart block in a few weeks. Can I use my 50oz balancer and flywheel on the new dart block or does it depend on what the crank is balanced at. The major problem I have is I bought the rotating assembly new/used. The person who I bought it from can't remember what the crank is balanced at. He bought it from Wynne Speed but when I called them, their numbers don't work....So I thought all 87 and up blocks were balanced at 50oz...Please tell me I'm correct...

The block has nothing to do with it....

It is what the crank is balanced at.... Most stroker kits are balanced for 28 oz....

Dont forget the flexplate/flywheel has to be set up to 28 oz. also...

I am not sure if a machine shop could look at it and tell you for sure.... Other wise I would really try to call the company and find out....

I think a machine shop would be able to tell the difference....
