Need help on installing Saleen GFX

well my post in the tech section got me absolutely no where so maybe there is hope in here. Im trying to get my saleen rear lip/bumper fitted so i can paint it. My problem is i don't know how the bottom section mounts to the car. there are these ears that hit the tank straps and make it near impossible for it to get close enough to fit against the rear bumper. any ideas on how this part mounts? should i grind off these ears??

I don't have those tabs on the 89. The 'bumps' sit in the grooves of the fuel tank cover.

I think you are supposed to screw it on to the gas tank straps, I have an 87 original saleen, and it dosnt have that but have like slits were the straps go to... but yea I am guessing that u just put a screw there to the strap....
