need help picking a carb and intake combo

I recommend doing a search. You should get plenty to look at. When I did, it seems that the Edelbrock Performer RPM, RPM Air Gap, and Weiand Stealth are the most commonly recommended aftermarket aluminum intakes, and a carb around the 600 cfm range. That's assuming that you're going w/ a mild to moderate street engine. I picked up a used Stealth and 600 cfm Holley for less than $200 combined.

I do recommend the search, though. I remember that others mentioned some older Ford intakes that they feel work well. That's a nice idea, especially if you're wanting to stay period-correct, all Ford parts, or want something a little different than others are running.
