Well i posted a few days ago about my car making some wierd noises and vibrateing and you all suggested that it might have been the harmonic balancer. So i replaced it today and definately tought that would be the problem. The old balancer rubber was cracked.
I got it done and low and behold it is still making the same noise a quick clacking sound when taking off from a start and it turns into a tick, tick, tick sound that picks up w/ speed as i go throught 1st and 2nd usually(it's a 5-speed) By then it goes away or is inaudible. Then the next thing that happens is that it starts vibrating at exactly 55mph and gradually goes away as it goes faster, there is a slight vibration as i go faster then 55 but hardly noticeable mostly if i leave my hand on the shifter. Now if i let off the gas at anything higher then 55 and coast it, I'll hear a slight drone/humm like sound that lasts only a few seconds and goes away and as it starts slowing down it will start vibratin as it gets down to 55 mph again. NOw this vibration seems speed related as it happens at 55mph not rpm related as when shifting throught the gears it seems fine.
The drivers side motor mount did seem bad. The little nub w/ the dished washer that hangs down was all cracked and loose, don't hoow the rest of the mount might look like. PLease help me out guys, trying to get this annoyance fixed, this is my daily driver. Thank you in advance.
