i have been trying to assemble the new front end under my 65 and i'm having problems. i have the upper, lower control arms, spindle and coil springs in the problem is i cant raise the lower control arm up to bolt the strut rod or sway bar. i tried jacking the lower arm up with a small jack but all this does is raise the whole car. i cannot secure the car to the floor so thats out, the motor is not in it so i dont have no weight.what else can i do?i thought about putting the coil spring compressor back on and taking some of the tension off of the upper control arm but i cant compress it enough.this whole front end thing has got me frustrated to say the least. surely there is an easier way to get everything hooked up. i sure would be grateful for any help. thanks.

A couple of possibilities

1). 3 big friends standing on the cross member in your engine compartment.

2). Pull the lower control arm forward, then pull down on the strut rod.

You need to get the front end compressed and get your shocks in. That will limit the travel.

Good luck, and above all think Safety!

Medic man......
I had the same problem when i installed the heidt's front end under mine. Place two tall jacks or jack stands under the frame rails at the rear of the car as close to the bumper as possible. that will place enough weight on the front of the car to compress the coil springs to install strut rod and sway bar.. the jack stands i used were adjustable up to about 3 ft. by placing the stands at the most rear point of the car, enough weight is now on the front and will allow you to compress the coils enough to install the sway bar and strut rod.
worked great for me.
