Just got my car back together after installing PI heads, intake, long tube headers, off road x-pipe, and underdrive pulleys. car starts up ok and runs a little rough, but i expected that considering all the changes that i've made. The thing that is really concerning me is that when i went test drive it, it would shut down around 2500 rpm in every gear except 1st?? It's not exactly at 2500 rpm every time, but just in that area. Anyone have a clue what could be my problem?

Thanks,
jake

I definately need a tune. I've heard some people do the swap and engine runs fine without a tune, but i apparently am not that lucky. I think the computer is throwing itself into safe mode due to all of the changes that i've made. If the timing it off just a notch or two, can that be adjusted with a tuner or is that something that i'll have to pull the front cover back off for?

I remember reading in here, a few months ago, someone that did the swap and never got a tune and the engine went !Kaput! but that was a while ago I read that. take it for what its worth, I'm no expert by a long shot...

Found the problem!!! A damn dirt dobber had made a mud nest inside of my Mass Air Meter! There was absolutely no air passing by the sensor wires. Engine still runs rough, but i think a tune will take care of that. Thanks for all ya'll help.
