Hello, all

I need advice on any combo's I can change to achieve 380-400rwhp in a N/A combo. I want to keep my 347 engine though and be able to go with a power adder in the long time (2yrs.) future.

Thanks everyone

AFR 185's, custom cam, Eddy RPM or TFS Track Heat intake should bring you up around thoes numbers

What hp are you at right now? You've done quite a bit of work so far.

Good question about my current hp, I've had the new motor and set-up for only 3 months. The mechanics who worked on my car, have suggested I'm only pushing 340rwhp, but thats a guess.

1 3/4 Long tubes, FTI cam, Edlebrock RPM II, AFR 185's. Get everything port matched and tell Ed everything about your combo when he's making your cam. I think that's my next project, 347.

Heres my idea of a nice 347 (a4 block/killer internals). TFS Hi-Port heads, RPM 2 intake, Ed C cam, 36lb'ers, 75mm tb, 1 3/4" LT's, 10.5-11:1 compression and a tune by someone who knows what their doing. Just a dream right now

I personally think your going to have to wind some more RPM's to make that kind of power... It may only take 6500-7000... IF your rotating assymby has really been balanced properly you could probably pull this off with the right cam of coarse...

I thought i had a pretty good setup in my 331 and only pushed out 340 horse.. (Some may say that a better tune would do it ) But i was satisified cause it made the power below 5500 rpms.

Now if you look at (www.Andersonfordmotorsport.com and look under prodject cars.) AFM's Prodject hi-rev 347 you can see they made over 475 rear wheel horse, Of coarse they went up to like 8K rpms..

BTW the last i knew that car was running 10.3's, its been awhile so it may be in the 9's now..

i agree with moneypit, your gonna need to rev up that motor more to make that kinda power with normal street mods not racing parts.

i would get edelbrock victor jr. heads, CHP super sypder intake, custom cam, injectors like a garden hose, and 90 mm MAS and TB, and some tuning....for a screamer.

Wait just a second.... You wanna boost it later? You may not want to do anything with a cam just yet then... Or, when you boost it, you could just put different ratio rockers on the heads. Once you get everything opened up really big and nice, the cam will matter, at least with the blower. Basically, building a NA vss blower is gonna be different in your build up, so be carefull what you buy, although it's not like there isn't a market for your parts!

Absolutely NO need to have to rev it high for only 380-400rwhp on a 347. You guy see this thread? http://forums.stangnet.com/showthread.php?t=395116 makes power to the stock limiter See his sig, its 390rwhp now.

If you want to recheck that thread you can see that he went up to 6500 rpms and made peak power around 6200... Most of our cars go up to 6000 and and make peak power around 5500.

May not be what most people consider a high rev but it was enough to put down numbers that are better then most.

Check out FOMOCO347 on the corral as well as Apollo_kid. FOMOCO347 is in the 10's NA, but I think he runs a solid roller cam, and Apollo has a 94-95 'vert and I "think" he was around 370-380 to the wheels last I heard. Here's a link to his combo and times...

No need to rev over 6000rpms to make that kind of power. My motor (last time I dynoed over a year ago) made 390hp/390tq at the wheels at 5700rpm. There is nothing special about my setup, nothing custom or any of that crap. I put it together with off the shelf parts and no porting at all.

My setup is:

347ci (SCAT crank and rods, SRP flat top pistons)
AFR 185 heads
Comp Cams 282 cam
Holley Systemax intake
BBK 1 5/8 longtubes and H pipe
70mm throttle body
ProM 75mm bullet meter
30lb injectors
1.6 roller rockers

and thats it. Ive recently gone with bigger exhaust and a Fox throttle body setup, but I havent even started the car yet with the new stuff. Hopefully Ill have everything finished by this weekend

Here are some other pics of my trash

Huh? Car peaks at 5700 and they took it to 6250, NOT 6500. Re-check the graph dude

thanks everyone for there advice. I'm leaning towards now to, afr 185's, I don't know about 1 3/4 headers maybe them, a power/typhoon intake or rpm 2 intake, 70mm throttle body, and this cam I saw in summit that was called a rpm 2 cam which rates from 1,500 - 6,500 or comp cam or crane. Possible some bigger injectors. But I will see what you all think.

I'm glad someone chimed in with proof. There is no need for any high price, high ticket items. A set of heads with 2.02 intake valves and a manifold designed to rev to 6500 RPM will get you there. Even with the stock cam, you could probably pull 350-360 RWHP out of it.
