just recently put this motor in my car... i cannot get the carb tuned for the life of me! i bought a fuel guage and i set it at 8 for now. i've tried setting it at 7, 7.5, 8, and 9 to try and see if that's the problem.

i ran the car yesterday at the track and the car bogs at the top of 3rd and feels like it totally shuts down. say i'm on the highway though and downshift to 3rd or 4th it will not bog.

Check the float bowl adjustments if you haven't already. Fuel pressure is fine at about 7-7.5. Check you're fuel line and see if there's anywhere it could be getting heated up when the engine's under full load. Could be a vaporlock problem. If it's close to a heat source, insulate it good.
