need help tuning my carb

just recently put this motor in my car... i cannot get the carb tuned for the life of me! i bought a fuel guage and i set it at 8 for now. i've tried setting it at 7, 7.5, 8, and 9 to try and see if that's the problem.


i ran the car yesterday at the track and the car bogs at the top of 3rd and feels like it totally shuts down. say i'm on the highway though and downshift to 3rd or 4th it will not bog.
