hey all, i just bought my 01 GT and wanna upgrade to bullitt/mach 1 or even cobra brakes. i was just wondering if this was just a matter of changing rotors and caliper anchor plates or if i need different calipers, rotors and other hardware? i wanna fill the wheel with rotor like the mach 1 and cobra. i work at the dealer so i get everything at cost. lemme know what i need. i would appreciate it! sorry i didnt search!!

A few different companies sell the entire kits for $399.

What you get are the rotors, calipers, caliper brackets and brake lines. It's a simple bolt on procedure.

PPI sells one of the $399 kits. Check em out at www.mustangparts.com

I'm happy with the kit.. I'm just excited for the stock pads to wear out so I can replace them with EBC Greenstuff pads for a little extra bite.

will both brake sets clear the bullitt style GT wheels? just wanna make sure i dont have to get different wheels with either the cobra brakes or bullitt/mach1 brakes. also, are all these parts in the kit available through ford? if they are i would rather buy them from my dealership. if anyone knows if the parts are available through ford, that would be great! thanks and it looks great!

Yes, all Ford 17" wheels will work. The Cobra/Mach1/Bullitt brakes are all the same, they just have different appearances. The CObra ones are black or dark gray and say COBRA. Mach 1's are plain and the bullitts are red with white ponys on them.

Yes, ford sells these parts, but not as a kit. You'll have to buy them separate at about $100 each caliper, $80 for the caliper brackets, $100 each rotor and then you need brake lines and pads. Even if you got a discount at your dealership, you would still probably pay more than the $399 those kits are sold for.

so i just need for example, mach1 calipers, caliper brackets, rotors, pads and lines?? it would be interesting to see how much it is, but lemme know if this is all i need. thanks again for the help!!

I have the 13" cobra setup on front of my '88, so here are the parts you will need

13" Rotors (get the 99-04 spec ones made by brembo)
Calipers
Caliper brackets
Pads
Brake Lines
Banjo bolts
2 copper crush washers.
