Installed a MAC Cold Air Kit (Fenderwell) on my 02 GT convertible a few weeks ago. I think it has an air leak but I can't find it. I have tightened down all of the clamps numerous times and triple-checked everything. Makes a leaking or "fluttering" sound when you hit the gas. It's weird - almost sounds like it's coming from the ventilation ducts, but it's definitely related to throttle movement. Any help? Thanks, Mark

The noise you describe may be a result of removing the factory box/air silencer, not necessarily because you have a leak.

You did remember to connect the lines from the valve cover and plenum to the intake right?

Yes, they are connected, I even clamped them down just to make sure that's not where it's coming from. It's like a hissing noise when I hit the gas.

See the pic I have the same setup. The hissing whoosing on acceleration is just the air being sucked though the filter in the fender well. Its normal.

Probably why Ford made the stock air box silencer, air can be noisy

The best thing I did with my MAC CAI was ripping it out.

4.6 - Thanks for the help. Just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing something.

Mr GT 02 - That's a lot of attitude from a young kid with a handful of basic garage bolt-ons, watch where you step......
