i have already done a search and tried everything i can do to make it go away. when i get in the higher rpms (above 3500) i am experiencing a very light cut out. it just is noticable but it is there. its not a real hard cut out or miss is soft but i cant narrow it down. i checked plugs and they look good. wires rotor and cap are all new. i replaced my fuel filter and even added a fuel treatment to make sure i had no water n the tank. im at a loss and dont know what to check for next.

Is it under accel or just cruising?

One easy thing to check is unplugging the vac line to the EGR. Just pop the vac line off the EGR and stick it on the bolt that holds the AC accumulator onto the firewall. It will block off that line so you don't get a vac leak. With the vac line off the EGR go take it for a spin and see if the problem went away.

It might not be your problem, but I was experiencing the same thing you described, and went through the usual routine, plugs, wires, cap, ect. I unhooked the vac line to the EGR (disabling it) and the problem went away. The EGR gradually opens and closes, mainly at cruising speeds. They can develop basically a dead spot, and will open too far, then close all the way rapidly, causing the exact problem you are describing.

Like I said, this might not be your problem...but it will literally take 5 minutes to check so you can at least rule that out as a possible problem.

i had a similar problem under hard acceleration above 3500 rpm. Did all the usual changing of parts with no change in miss.:bang: Then I bought a cheap coil to replace the one I had. That fixed the problem. My coil was junk. I then bought a MSD coil to replace the cheap one I used for diagnosis. This could be your problem. Good luck.

I havent thought about that. i will try it today.

Does the problem occur mostly on a warm or hot engine? Or does it happen all the time? No codes?
It happens all the time. and i had no codes. just 11.

It might be the coil i will also try that today.

make sure your timing is ok, mine was off just slightly and it missed JUST a bit, like you're saying.
Once again i havent thought about my timing, will check that also.

thanks for the input guys.
