Need help with my new setup

Guys, i am in the middle of installing my intake, throttle body ect ect and I need some help. First, how do i remove the fuel rails? I got them loose but cant get them off. Second, my TFS street doesnot use a EGR spacer. What do i do with the hoses that connected to the original EGR spacer? and the.....im not sure what its called but something that is attached to the EGR spacer. See pics

See this one does not use a EGR spacer. Just uses that lil plate adapter to get the throttle body into stock position.

And this big thing on the side? What do i do with the little hoses that went into there?

Do i need to remove the distributer for the installation? Any tips on making this joib easier? Any special tools? I got the upper plenum off already and at the fuel rails atm. but i cannot remove them from that lil round thing with the clip. Any help appreciated. Thank you.:SNSign:

The fuel rails require a special tool.. it's the same tool used to disconnect ac lines as well but I was able to swing the fuel rails out of the way when I did my intake swap.. I didn't have to fully disconnect them from the car.

Why are you not using an EGR spacer? the street heat intake is made to use with EGR and normally people don't delete the EGR unless they are going all out because it's a really pain in the ass to do so plus you have to disable it within your chip or ecm when doing your tune.

That round thing on the old EGR spacer that your pointing to is actualy the EGR valve and I would recommend buying a matching EGR spacer and putting it on.. the intake port on the trickflow street heat intake is 70mm so i'd purchase a matching 70mm EGR spacer and be done with it.. they can be had really cheap brand new or used.

You will probably need the EGR spacer since that is where the throttle cable mounts.

Look in the A/C repair section for the fuel line tools. They look like little plastic top hats. You will need the 1/2" & 5/8" ones. The hat shaped section goes on facing the large part of the coupling. Then you press hard on the brim until it forces the sleeve into the coupling and releases the spring. You may need someone to pull on the line while you press on the coupling. Put some motor oil on them when you put the line back together.

I thought i would need a EGR spacer. The guy i bought this from said this intake didnt use the egr spacer but instead used a half inch block spacer to get the throttle body into stock position. There is a spacer with brackets to mount the throttle cables to but its not an EGR.

half inch isn't enough.. look at how wide your stock egr is and on an other wise stock car why would you not run an egr it's not worth the hassle of fully disabling and deleting it in my opinion.

I have no problem running a EGR. I bought this from some one as a set. Didnt come with a EGR. I will get one tho. Looking at a professiona products or TFS. Maybe BBK not sure yet. they are cheap. 60 bucks or so. so no biggie.

It's hard to f up an egr spacer so i'd say go with the cheapest you can get.. the professional products one is the cheapest new I think.. I have it and it's actually the same as my edelbrock I had previously except the pp one comes polished for much less.

By the way. I got the tools to get the fuel rails off. But how do i use them? I got two different ones. one set has plasitc looking "top hats" and the other is like a scissor. what is the process on using them. no instuctions on the packaging.

From my previous post...

You can delete the egr valve, although i wouldn't do it that way.
I'd put the egr spacer in, and then use a block off plate to cover where the valve went.
Most times you don't need to shut anything off in the computer either.
You can buy an EGR simulator and simply plug in it to the egr valve connector.

No im gonna use a EGR spacer and connect everything as it was. Im not sure what the previous guys set up was but he seems to be either hardcore or an idiot. He told me that I didnt need the EGR block with my intake but i installed it today and guess what.....my MAF bracket doesnt reach the mounting holes........the egr would bring it into place. BTW.....doing the intake install was a pain in my rear....for lack of better words. took me and a buddy almost six hours. And im not done!!! I have some valves that need to be connected but dont remember what goes to them. I will post pics.

If I remember correctly, that would be the vacuum line to the charcoal canister.

ok guys i am worried. I cant seem to find the hoses that connect to these two valves........i know i disconnected them when i took the original upper plenum off but am not sure what goes into them. I got the one that connects to the vacuum tree. the bigger one. i got the one on the front by the distributor. but these two i cant figure out. please point me in the right direction...
this is the back of the intake. by the firewall

Also, i make a mistake and am a lil worried. I applied some silicone type gasket maker, not much just a lil bit on the two rubber s shaped gaskets for the lower intake manifold. the one that goes on the front and back. Is this a big boo boo? Will i have to redo this? I read the instructions after installation and it said...IMPORTANT install thses two gaskets dry. I didnt use any gasket or silicone on my lower manifold to head gasket either. My buddy was a mechanic in the military for eight yrs and he said i shouldnt need it. Not sure if he realized that my car is a Mustang and not a Humvee lol.
