After installing my UPR x-pipe on my 98, I found out that it doesn't fit right! I thought the gasket on the passenger side was leaking but it turns out that the flange on the x-pipe itself does not mate up to the exhaust manifold outlet, after I bottom the nuts on the studs, there is a gap on the left side of the flange where exhaust is leaking. I have tried adjusting the x-pipe to get the passenger side flange to sit right but there is still a gap, it's almost like they welded the flange crooked and that one side of the flange is hitting the exhaust manifold first and not letting the rest mate up. Has anyone else had this problem? Can anyone offer any advice other than selling it and getting another brand?

Make sure you dont install it all in 1 peice.

Do the passenger side first, and Saleen is right, the gaskets are notorious for going bad (mine did also) and it sounded like a dump truck.

After you do the passenger side and have it attatched to the catback do the drivers side pipe. Its a PITA if your just doing it on jackstands, it might look straight when your under there but in reality its all jacked up.

As the others said just start with the pass side first, then go to the dirver side. I installed my UPR X and it fit like a glove, no probelms at all with it.

You are not the first person I have heard that had fitment
issues with the UPR X pipe. Should have got a Bassani X pipe
and you wouldn't be going through that.

UPRs got one of the best reputations for fitting correctly that ive heard of.

Bassani is way too expensive for alot of people, plus I dont like a "stamped" X pipe. Definaty a quality product though, ive seen them brand new out of the box and I was impressed.
