:nonono: I need help with my 94 gt, I'm trying to figure out how to do the timing and am new to this, can anyone show mw how to set the timing?, any help would be appreciated.....thanx

quick and dirty version:
SPOUT connector is in the inner fender or under the MAF. unplug it (get the car warm first).
with the car off, if you can see the marks on the damper, use paint or a silver marker (what i use) to mark the degree you want (12*, 14, etc).
put the timing light on plug wire # one and time it.
loosen the hold down if you need to change it and move the dizzy till it is in time and tighten it back up. recheck, as tightening the hold down often moves the timing a degree or two.
put SPOUT connector back in. good luck.

What he said pretty much nails it.....
If your new to the car....shoot for the very TOP of the timing tab..it can get confusing as to what to shoot for and usually you can sneak the light right in front of the alternator to get a good shot at the tab....lotsa clutter in the way.

:nice: Exactly.

ANDY: Not everyone has a beautiful balancer like that. Don't confuse the guy when he doesn't see his is like that when he looks at the tab. :D

i need to adjust my timing also..what is this "spout" you guys are talking about? a pic maybe?
I am sure Andy or JR will have a pic of it. :nice:

under the MAF meter or tucked just inside the inner fender well is a two wire connector with a grey or black plug in the end (the entire assembly looks like a pigtail flopping around). when you are ready to time the car, remove the grey or black plastic connector from the end of the pigtail (this pulls the computer out of the timing advance game).

good luck.

The SPOUT...
Pass side fenderwell, if you were to lean over from the side nto the engine bay it's straight down.
may have to move your air intake.
it's just two wiring connecting ends that plug into ea. other
and it should be held by a tab into the fenderwell.
