Roush Need help witn Intercooler!

Alright, I don't know if my intercooler is working. I tried running the car to regular engine temp and had my father hit the gas (to go into boost) but I couldn't get the fans to go on. I'm also pretty sure that the water/coolant wasn't circulating.

What I need to know is:
What triggers the intercooler pump to circulate the water?
What triggers the intercooler fans to turn on?

If you happen to have a similar supercharger setup, how high should the coolant be in the resovoir (above the return line?)

I had a similar problem with my fans not turning on (usually about 15-20 seconds after start-up) and my intercooler temp immediately jumped to nearly 200 F on the road. The problem was that I lost/blew the fuse that runs my intercooler fan.

I'm all over this. Where was the fuse located? I checked all the ones in my box and I've got no idea which one it would be but none are burned out. I checked the box under the hood as well and they all looked alright. Perhaps I'm missing it altogether or it's actually on a device somewhere? I really appreciate the info.

Normally the fans should kick on a minute or so after you start the car. Also you can start the car with the resivour cap off and you should be able to see the coolant movement indicating flow. That would tell you the pump is running.

No movement. Is there a themostat? I let it get pretty hot. Still hoping someone can tell me which fuse location it might be in?

"ASSuming" the 01 is the same as the 99, there should be a fuse holder sticking out of a
hole under the hood in the passenger side fender near the MAF. It leads to the relay box which is
above the fender well liner on the passenger side. The relay box is basically a timer that waits about
15-20 seconds after the ignition is turned on, then triggers power to the fans and the
intercooler pump. Try finding the fuse first. If you can't find it, email me and I can dig up
the color codes for the wires in the fender well, at least what I wrote down for the 99's.

My apologies for the delay in my response.

Unfortunately, I cannot tell you the location of the fuse because I had my local dealer troubleshoot and replace. Luckily, they didn't charge me a penny to replace the fuse....so I can't give you an idea of what it might cost if you choose to take to the car to a dealer.

I'm assuming that the fuse is the little black box right in front of the strut on the passenger side. It's a big metal fuse so I can't visually tell if it's blown. I'll replace it and see what happens. It's pretty difficult to get a good look at the pump or wires coming off of it because of the fender lining. Thanks for the help, I'll be sure to post if it works. The black box I was talking about is pretty visible in this pic.

In my car, the fuse is an inline fuseholder and the wiring is in that hole in the fender to the left of the black box you are referring to. I would follow that wire loom that is coming out of the hole, your fuse might be at the end of it that is hiding behind the air tube.

I found it. The fuse was blown. It works perfectly now. Thank you very much for your help.

Glad to hear it's working again. You should notice a difference in how the car runs, mine pinged a lot and ran like a dog when my intercooler wasn't working.
