I wanna make a box to mount a camcorder on...the idea is to make videos of the car from a driver's viewpoint, without someone else holding the camera, and at the same time being outside the car for better exhaust sound.
The problem is keeping wind noise down while still picking up exhaust sounds. I used a belt once to strap it to the upper part of the door and then closed the door...this was crude but worked really well for video, but since there was nothing in front of the mic to block wind, that's all you could hear is the wind.
So...i'm thinking of maybe picking up some plexiglass and using JB Weld to construct a box, then drill a hole in the bottom of the box to put a screw through, to hold the camera to the bottom of the box (in the place where a tripod would go). Then i would still use some kind of strapping to hold it to the door or maybe even pull out a head light and put it there, but there can't be anything permanent so no drilling holes or anything.
That's basically what i've got....anyone got any better ideas? This is also gotta be super low buck cheap 'cause i'm not blowing a bunch of money on it..lol
