sometime this next year i'm going to get afr 165 heads and putting in an e303 cam, i'm wanting to know what kind and size headers i should get.....what i had my 92 gt was an e303 cam, ported stock heads, and mac 1-5/8 shorty equal length headers ( i'm not going to do equal length anymore, they looked awsome but they were a pain to keep bolts tight).... my brother-n-law suggest since i was going to get afr's to get 1-3/4 headers....is that correct??? i'm thinking mac 1-5/8 shorty's........help me decide.....

1 3/4 will usually hurt low end on a typical 302 na combo.

If more cubes, larger port heads, or pa then they most likely would be more suited.

I'd stay with 1 5/8

Be sure to open up the header port a bit when using AFR 165's

The header covers too much of the port as it is

I would also recommend getting headers that have a solid type flange like the BBK for instance. Warpage sucks arse.

yes, if I were to do it again, I'd get the BBK shorties, I can't seem to find any bad complaints about them. Equal lengths were invented by the devil himself.

I have BBK's. Fitment was great, but the gaskets suck badly. if u get the BBK's make you dont use the ones they send. also get locking bolts.

The gaskets that came with my bbk worked great, sealed great the first time w/o problems.

But the nuts that go on the collector studs stripped after being torqued down once. 3 of 4 did in my case. I would recommend getting high quality studs and nuts.
