Hi new on here been lurking but not alot ive got a 94 cobra that i might swap a 94-5 gt engine into anything that needs to be done just to have her running well enough to drive or will i have computer issues due to cobras upgrades? i posted this on talk instead of tech by accident so if you see this twice....

It's been a while since I've gotten into the EEC, but last I remember the Cobra computer can run the GT engine, but it will be down on power and it may be rough. If the harnesses are the same, you could just swap the EEC out without too much trouble. But someone else will have to second that.

I replied in your other post also, but concerning cobra EEC control of a gt motor, your best bet is to get a chip or tuner to adjust it for the injectors, or just swap the cobras 24lb injectors over to the gt motor would probably be the simplest/cheapest.

i don't get it. what's wrong with the cobra motor that you want to put a gt engine? if you blew the bottom end out then just strip them down and put the top end off the cobra on the gt block (all the same there). you'll be doing all this work to just give you more headache with a true swap when it would be easier to just put the cobra goodies and keep the wiring/computer/injectors the same.

I'm too lazy for all that. You can get a running Ford Escort for $500, and then get even better gas mileage.

At the current price of gas (and going higher), this would pay for itself quickly! Why rack up even more miles on your Mustang?

Well ... If you want to swap out the entire motor

The things that are different that first come to mind is ..........
1 heads
2 intake
3 cam
4 inj's

The pcm is of course setup for the above parts used with a Cobra

1, 2, and 3 won't make much difference to the pcm and it's adaptive
strategy most likely can deal with the change

#4 will be an issue for sure

Like was said above ... Just use the 24's from the Cobra
or better yet
Also swap out heads/intake from the Cobra for more power

As I understand it ... the diff between the cams is not enough to
go to the hassel to swap them out

It's a 190K Cobra engine with a tick in the top. I don't think there will be much to be gained from using those Cobra heads.

Good Point Sir

I didn't read the above info with enough attention to the details
