need info on throttle body's dont laugh

ok i'm used to a 4.6 stang, i have modded my 95 gt some, mac c.a.i, u/d pulley's, o/r h - pipe, etc, i just dont know what the stock t/b is is it 50 or 55 mm, i orderd a 65 mm , am i gonna get any result's ??????? just dont know, my last 302 was a 69 model, which i still have, waiting to go in my 65 falcon, help a idiot please

i switched mine to a 65mm and didn't really noticed anything. but i believe you would get more affect from it once you put on better flowing intake. i still have the stock intake on mine

I have a 65mm on my h/c/i 302, its a BBK, it came on the car when i bought it...i'm sure its holding me back some, but whatever!

Stock is 60mm as is the stock intake opening. To see any kind of results you NEED to port match the opening. Putting a 65mm (or any size tb) on a 60mm opening creates a wall for air to hit disrupting flow. Match the tb to the inlet size of the manifold is what I preach. Need more TB than what the opening is, then break out the dremel.

Most of the dyno books I have read showed a 65mm t/b out performed larger 70&75mm t/b on even 347 strokers.

Maybe on a pathetic 347 with stock heads or some kind of junk like that a 65 would perform similar to a 70/75, but on a REAL 347 the only place a 65mm belongs is in the trash can or recycling bin Plenty of guys gaining power with larger tb's on 302's as well.

Im too lazy to find the thread but i could swore the 65mm Tb supports 600hp. Thats a pretty healthy 347

whats the opening on gt-40 intake manifolds?
cause i got one and got a 65mm tb?
is everything matched up?

GT40 and cobra manifolds have a 70mm opening. Your fine with what you have.

If this is true then wouldnt our 60mm TB's be good to like 450 or someting much higher than any of our NA 302 combos are making?

Bull Crap people bull crap. Firstly my 65mm was not more than adequete with my current combo I got dynoed with the 65mm then later dynoed without my 65mm i lost 9rwhp and 10rwtq, i thought i barely even needed the 65mm shouldnt be that much of a drop right Also while datalogging with my Tweecer i found that i peaked around 912kg/hr peak air flow while at WOT. With my new 75mm throttle body and edlbow i now get a whopping 930kg/hr on average and about 8kg/hr more throught the whole curve. But i guess solid numbers are never really adequte info.

I was just saying what i read in another thread on here or the corral. Mabey some of the info on here is inaccurate, but thanks for the heads up. I will prolly buy a 75 if it made that big of a difference on yr combo.
