Need input/constructive criticism on daily driven combo...

This combo will be going on my daily driven 91 lx 5-speed...The motor has 100K on it...What do you guys think? I am want to go with stock castings in this particular combo for personal reasons... Need some suggestions if extrude honing the upper intake would be beneficial with the flow numbers of the heads...Reason for asking is that it seems as though intakes usually flow less than heads...Not sure why that is besides maybe velocity issues but would this be considered a bottle neck?

I also need a suggestion as in regards to a cam...Thinking of going with FTI grind but not sure how the cam will respond to the heads and vice versa...

Also what kind of headers would give me the most from this particular set up...shorties or long tubes? I know that long tubes make more but not sure if that would be too much exhaust for those heads...any input would be appreciated...

Any ideas about the RWHP and RWTQ with this setup?

P.S. I have also noticed that the runners on the intake are larger than the runners on the heads by a bit...would this cause a problem in terms of turbulance since the intake is slightly larger than the heads?

Holley intake is way too big for that setup, Edel Performer IMO will be your best bang for buck.

Long tubes will make more power than shorties period, get them worth the investment.

FTI cam is a good option but there are other cams that'll perform well with those parts. If you do get an FTI can you most likely will have to upgrade the springs on the heads as well to handle lobe profile.

The intake is not the holley systemax 2 intake...if you remember holley use to make a systemax 1 lower that went together with the OEM upper...so that should work out great...the heads have upgraded spring that can handle .600 lift, however, i don't know what the seat pressure is...anyway I can find that out? So you think LT's won't be too much of exhaust for those heads? I realize they make more power over shorties but not in all setup are they better...
 
Not a lot of difference between the shorties and LT's to be perfectly honest, so pick whichever you like. As far as the cam goes, definitely look into a custom cam; especially since you have the flow numbers handy on your intake, and heads. You can have a cam ground to suit the way the car will be driven, where you want your engine to make power, and whether or not you want a nice broad power band. As far as power goes, whoever grinds your cam should be able to give you a prety good idea of that (with supplied head and intake flow #'s), or you need to find a different person to do the work, LOL. Keep us updated on what you decide to go with.
 
I think the combo your going for is a good setup. The only critizisim I can find is cost. I belive the custom cam would be a great idea, they don't cost much more than OTS cams but do much better with power. However, I don't think paying so much for the parts is nessasary.

Let me suggest: Thumper E7's w/spring upgrade, instead of the Powerheads: $695, TMOSS ported Lower, instead of the SystmaxI: $130 I belive he does uppers now, not sure though. C&L 73mm MAF, instead of the 77mm Pro-m: $120. I think you will save alot of money.

Exaust I don't think you have to worry about there being "too much" as long as you keep the pipe diameters conservative. BBK Longtubes 1 5/8ths into 2.5" midpipe for example.

Overall, the stock Fuel system should be able to handle all of this.

Yes you are right as far as price is concerned...however, I did find most of the parts used...and looked long enough untill I found a best possible deal...For one, I paid $550 for Powerheads that came with roller rockers and hardened pushrods...I got a new Systemax 1 intake for $200...The Pro-M is what got me...I paid $300 for that, however, that included the inlet tube and all the clamps...Still better than paying $400 for a new one and extra $100 in accesories...Still need more parts but I'm working on that...My goal is to spend $1500 on ALL the parts with bolt-ons...BTW: Do you know how much Tmoss charges for the upper intake? I knew that he did lowers but I did not know that he did uppers...
