I am looking for an intake manifold that will give me low-end torque to midrange. I have hooker headers, 2.5 off road H, Flows w/turn downs. i am also looking for a cam that will give me more mid to upper hp. I have 3.55's in the rear, and it's a daily driven car. Pretty much i am looking for overall speed. Any suggestions on a good cam for daily driven car IN CALIFORNIA w/smog :notnice:

btw i do plan on upgrading to a 2.5 catted x pipe for smog when it's due, and new cat back  it sux... lots of money wasted on bad modifications that i must now replace again :notnice: so hopefully someone will give me GOOD insight on a good cam and intake manifold with the intent of leaving the heads stock for at least a year... maybe eventually putting on a 5psi blower in the near future too with all the upgrades that go with that... in tnk fl pump, injectors, another MAF TUBE etc.. thanks

Ported heads.. the FMS E cam in at 104 ICL ( 6* advanced) TMOSS ported intake and you will be sliding sideways when ever you mash the gas!! and still look totally stock 'cept for the cam idle!!

For what you want to do, a ported stock lower and a cheap-to-find used E cam (or new) should do it for you. (Edit) A stock Explorer would also work but prob won't give as much low-mid range as the ported stock lower with stock upper. (Edit)
Combine that with professionally ported heads and you've really got a great daily driver street combo.

he says he plans on leaving the heads stock, sound like your wasting money on the wrong mods again.......you should probably overlook your plan instead of putting a bigger cam in a stock engine. Keep the stock cam and invest its cost into port work for your heads. Get your heads ported along with your intake and do a cam later. If money wasnt an option there is a better route, which there probably always is, but it sounds like your trying to keep it fairly mild

actually... any mod and the 5.0 responds killer!! Heads are not always the key to necksnapping low end!! the E7s and the E cam were made for that combo!! Yes porting the heads are better, or upgrading, but not neccessary like ALL the mag say!! Start out where you can... as you get used to the add'l power or the wallet gets fatter .. then bump up the mods... Cam and intake will add a LOT of power to the 5.0... more WITH ported heads.. but still a lot !!

Loko at thumper460's link in his sig. He ports stock heads. Read up. the more you learn about heads and flow and how engines work, the more impressive his head mods become. Tiny valves, small port volumes, high flow numbers....add up to great throttle reponse and more torque and hp.

Couldnt say it better!! LOL

And they work!! bolt on!! and NOTHING special to buy !! rocking!!

Most see an everage of 30-40 RWHP with just the heads alone.. add the E cam and your 50 or MORE at the rear wheels!! And for less than JUST the 'brocks!!
