Need More Aftermarket Parts For 71-73 Stangs

Original Disc Brake Kits

Probably not what you had in mind, but I will soon be offering a disc brake kit based on the original 70-73 design. It will include new spindles, caliper brackets, calipers, and all the small bits. This kit fits 65-73 cars and is offered with 65-66 or 67-73 geometry.

I doubt that there will ever be a wide selection of reproduction parts available for 71-73 Mustang. There just isn't enough market to justify the developement cost. My experience with brake kits is that much less than 5% of kits sold are installed onto 71-73.

Laurel Mustang seems to be leading the pack on new repro Mustang part introductions. Didn't they just bring out mount correct horns for each of the year/models?

Ahh, those quarters. I guess I'm mistaken then. What I bought from Mike was the (even harder to find) rear most quarter trim panels for the Mach with the fold down seat/trap door setup. Cause the previous owner molested them:


Since I don't see any distinction made on the ebay add. I wonder if the back seat trim panel (as shown on the ebay add) is the same regardless of "fold down seat/trap door" or "package tray" setup.

I'm looking for the rearmost panels as well if anyone has a lead on them.

Just want to say I feel for you guys! Everytime I get discouraged with a lack of parts for my model the only thing that keeps me sane is thinking of your group. Someone always has it worse. I'd love to add a Cuda to my stable one day but I can't afford to be in that hobby.

New tooling can be very expensive to produce depending on the item and supply and demand will always be the deciding factor for the number crunchers. With less than 15k 69' convertibles sold originally (and half that number for 70' that share the same parts) and maybe what 65% of them potentially on the road, I have had to refinish and custom fab more parts than I would have liked too and hitting the graveyards is usually just as frustrating.

In your case it might be easier to do some custom glassing, lots of sanding and resimulating the grain then redyeing afterwards as opposed to holding your breath and waiting or continueing the never ending quest for something you need that someone else doesn't anymore.
