im still so depressed. i put so much effort into this car.

i already changed the O2's, wires, plugs and cleaned stuff out.

when i reset the battery to clear everything, it'll run fine for about 4-6 drives. then all of a sudden my CEL comes on. so far (the two times i've scanned it since changing the O2 sensors) i've had p0175 (rich in bank 2).

first of all, what can cause me to be rich in one bank? my guess is a bad/leaky injector. im letting it drive more with the CEL on just to see if any more codes come up.

car drives fine. idle is perfect and the power is all there. no hesitation. just that CEL. how can i go about solving this? any info is greatly appreciated.

im going to flip-flop the injectors after i scan it and see if the problem is in fact the injectors (if it is the code will show up on the other bank). that is if i dont see a plug that is darker than the rest.

any ideas?!

and what happens when a rich code is found? does the EEC lean it out on that bank? or does it do nothing?

I'd check the injectors or just get new ones and see if it helps.. otherwise check your tune.. fuel pump???

i would think it would be a leaky injector(s). a bad fuel pump would tend to cause a rich symptom on both banks.

fuel pump was just another thing to check out..

Injectors you'll have to buy at Ford or order from www.fordpartsnetwork.com

Definately swap the injectors before you buy more. That is a cheap check!

hey man if ur still having this problem maybe its ur air intake...if its a cheap air intake it can set off ur cel. put the stock one back on and reset ur comp and see if that helps.

hehehe. thats exactly what the problem was! (this is an old thread). i actually modified my chrome one and it works much better now. turns out the metal tube was actually sitting inside the maf housing!! i shortened it and modified the iat seat some and so far no problems. the tube is definatly shorter than the stock one now.

here's my thread
