So this is where I stand at the moment:

C&L CAI
Throttle body spacer
Diablo Tuner
underdrive pully
MagnaFlow straight duals

I figure I am sitting around 254hp give or take right now.

SO with all that said, I am kind of stuck and don't know where to go next to gain more horse power from the V6?? I was thinking upgrading the Driveshaft to a lighter one piece, but is there another cheaper upgrade I can go to first? I am saving forced induction for last, while I save up the cash for that.

Your 185-90 stock at the wheels, the mods you listed are not netting you
60+ HP.

185 - 190 horse RWHP stock is being a prime V6. I have heard of S197 v6's being as low as 175. Either way yeah with those mods RWHP is probably more like 200 - 205 and maybe, just a big MAYBE 210. CAI intakes with a tune add like 10 - 15 RWHP. Throttle body spacer 0 - 0. Underdrive pullies are 2-5 at best and exhaust is 2-5 as well, if anything. The companies would lead you to believe you have 250+ hp but this is far from the truth.

Well First and foremost thank you for clarifying that for me, but as I said I was just guessing what it was going off the numbers from the websites where I have purchased the parts.... 2ND you were quick to correct the Numbers I threw out, but not so fast to Answer the question that was asked.

These were the numbers I was going off of.

C&L CAI - 11hp

Throttle body spacer - 9hp

Diablo Tuner - 15hp

underdrive pully - 16hp

MagnaFlow straight duals - 5hp

no it hasn't been dyno'd but what else can I go off of really? other then what they parts are rated to improve at?

hey man, dont worry about guessing wrong...we are all wrong sometimes

as for hp... not too mch you can do without opening up the engine or adding boost...

think about getting some gears..they dont add any hp..but they will make your car faster...or at least feel faster ha...

if you dont know what they are already...google it...

Does anyone else shake their head when a company claims 9 hp from a throttle body spacer? This is nothing against herm25 but who has the guts to claim 9 hp on a part like that? I don't think any fuel injected car ever made power like that off a spacer. Even carb spacers never gave that much. Unless you had like a dual quad setup.

Boosted (turbo'd or supercharged) cars give those exact results. Sometimes more, sometimes less. And everyone needs to stop knocking this guy, he was calculating engine HP, not rear wheel horsepower. He technically wasn't wrong, just the figures aren't as accurate as the companies would like you to believe. His 254hp *engine HP estimate is very close to the 200rwhp mark using the standard 20% drivetrain loss.

Back on topic, it seems you should just keep saving for that charger, everything is just drops in a bucket compared to it. Although some of your mods will wake up when the charger goes on....Also, save your original pully, that underdriven one will have to come off when the supercharger goes on.

Real world *estimates* that I've personally experienced are shown in red above.

carb spacers can add 5-10 hp, but the throat is so short on a carb's engine that adding some height can actually make some hp. A throttle body spacer does nothing. Not the swirled kind, not the vaned kind, not the ribbed kind, none of them. Spinning some air (if they even do what they claim) that far from the manifold and through the heads adds nothing.

you're at the point now where it will get spendy to jump up hp. But there are things to do to make your existing hp feel like more. An aluminum driveshaft. Shorter (numerically higher) gears. Maybe a better clutch for a more positive engagement. Cams may help, but the 4.0 heads are pretty limited for airflow in the stock configuration. As someone else said, forced induction will give you the most bang for your buck bar none.

Every manufacturer lists a best case scenario for hp as advertising. Most list an "up to" for hp increases. Don't let people bug you when adding up your hp numbers. We all do that amigo. Good luck with your build, sounds like you have a sweet car as it is, a s/c will be killer.

You can always make your weight to power ratio better; strip everything out of the mustang you don't need to lighten it up. It will probably look like garbage from the inside, but every little bit helps. Though in mustangs, a lot of the extra weight is probably over the rear wheels : /
