Need new distributor gear for 351w roller- what part number??

I am in need of a different gear for the distributor since I am putting a roller cam in this 351w roller block. The distributor I got was out of a 96 351w. Since I need to change the gear do you know what part number it is? Ford Racing shows this part number:

M-12390-F Steel Yellow 1.249" 0.531" All 302/351W hydraulic roller tappet engines with EFI and 351W Duraspark.
or do I go this gear:

M-12390-E Bronze Bronze with
Blue Stripe 1.249" 0.531" All 302 hydraulic (flat or roller) tappet engines with EFI.
All 351W engines.

Any help would be appreciated

I do believe you want the steel gear.

I am not sure on the part number as I think there may have been 2 different IDs that were used on 351w distributor gears. Maybe?

If you double check with a good parts store like NAPA, you should be ok.

thanks for the info. i was told that since i got it out of a 96 that it should already have the steel gear. i need to take a look at it and find out for sure before dropping it in there.

Wow, I completely missed that.
1994 and up 351w all had roller cams. You are good to go, as long as you are confident about what year the dist came out of.
