Looking at a dynomax catback system. I've done some searching but not quite finding what I'm looking for. How do you like yours? How does it compare to the flowmaster force II setup? How well is it manufactured (fitment)?
I have a Dynomax Catback on a 90 GT and a Flowmaster Catback on the 89. The Dynomax isnt as loud as the flowmasters. Sound wise it is actually pretty quite compaired to the flowmasters. I like both of them. The fit on the dynomax was fine and i havent had any problems since i installed it about two years ago. I didnt install the flowmasters on the 89 but they seem to be holding up fine. If you want me to get some videos/sound clips of the different cars i would be happy to take some this weekend when im home. Scott
does that have the 2 or 3 chamber flows? I am doing this for my dad. I've got the 2 chamber flows on mine and its a little much for him so I was looking for other options.
I've owned a few Dynomax. I have had a few Super-Turbos and I now have a Ultra-Flo. To me , the turbos remind me of an old Trans Am , good deep and quite until you hit it and then it still isnt real loud but just sounds good. The Ultra-Flos are a straight through and are a little loud and raspy( I have an X pipe). I love the fit and quality!!!
I have the Ultra-Flo catback with a high-flow catted H-pipe. Sounds great! Fairly quiet at idle, and it screams at WOT. Has the classic '60's muscle car rumble with the H-pipe. Fitment was PERFECT.
I have a Dynomax cat-back w/ super turbo's on my 88 GT and I like it, and I also get quite a few compliments about it. It is fairly quiet, but deep and mellow. They were already on the car when I bought it, but they look like good quality pipes and the fitment looks good (no hammered dents in the pipe anywhere for clearance or anything like that). My only complaint about them is that they drone at about 2000 RPM, and they really aren't bad, but it kinda drowns out the music going down the road.
I have the dynomax catback and super turbos. Im very pleased with it. The sound, the fit, and overall quality is very nice. I installed it and a jegs offroad h pipe by myself in about 4 hrs. Some beer was consumed while doing this also.
I have a 2.25 inch Dynomax Super Turbo catback and am looking to trade for 2.5 inch Flowmaster catback. My car is too quiet for my tastes, I LIKE LOUD!
thanks for all the info guys...I'm going to get a set for him. Brothers Performance has them for $189 right now with free shipping so it is king of hard to pass up that deal... I'm sure my dad will be happy with them.
