1979.

My car came with a butchered (cut and welded bracket, cable ties and hose clamp) carb throttle and kick-down setup. I'm trying to put it back to stock and I'm needing a pick of what the stock setup looks like, in particular how the kickdown throttle linkage is setup.

When you are asking for help and pictures It would be helpful to provide a little more information about you car beyond the year. Mustang? Engine / transmission / carb / manifold / etc. That is if you want pictures of similarly equipped 1979 cars.

Lots of helpful people here.

Kruisr, that picture is of a CFI & TV rod setup for AOD equipped cars, not a car setup. The AOD first appeared in the Mustang in 1984 and only with CFI injection. The OP has a car from 1979.

I had a 302 2bbl out of a mid 80's LTD back in the day that had the same rod set up. The C4/C5 still needs something for the TV. I find it hard to believe Ford would have a cable system in 79 and then revert to a rod system in later years to then go back to a cable again.

C4 / C5 had kickdown rods only as far as I know. 1986 was the first year for a TV cable.

In 1979 there were 2 different V8 engines available in the Mustang, different although similar.

Okay. In 79 the only autos were C4s. You just said it was a rod set up. The diagram will be very close (if not the same) as what the OP is looking for.

My car is a 1979 with Ford crate engine M6007-x302, Holley FR-80457SA 600 CFM Street Warrior Carburetor, Performer intake manifold, C6 automatic.
Here are a few pics showing what I started with: a Holley 750cfm, hose clamp and some sort of cut and "welded" bracketry. You can see in first pic the linkage to affix the throttle cable and kickdown cables was welded onto the Holley 750's linkage. I have purchased, what I believe is the correct cable bracketry LHM, just waiting for it to arrive.

Any factory Ford equipped with a 302 4-bbl & C4 from the '70's would help you.

I have an '84 Mustang with 5.0, CFI, AOD, with TV rod in the garage. I can get you a picture of the linkage setup if that will help you, BUT, the CFI was essentially a 2-bbl and actually used a 2-bbl intake so it is different from your 4-bbl carb. It isn't apples to apples for comparison.
