Need pics of 1999 Stock H-pipe

Well I went in to smog my car after spending yesterday putting my "stock" h-pipe back in only to find out that the smog guy is telling me that I have too many cats (6). I couldn't find any pics of stock 4.6 h-pipes from CA so I was hoping someone here would have some so I could compare.

The h-pipe that I reinstalled is the one that I got when I bought the car almost two years ago. I already went to the Ford dealeship and made an appointment for Monday of next week to have it checked out. If it turns out that the system that I got on the car isn't correct you can be sure I am going to throw a **** fit for them selling me a car that didn't have correct smog equipment on it.

I have a stock 99 gt h pipe with 6 cats... the guys a moron.. its not untill like 01 that they only had 4

Yeah, I think the stock H pipe in 99 did have 6 cats on it.

This is crazy cause I just called ford and they told me that in the parts catalog that they only list the h-pipe with the four cats but from what is seems here that some cars did come with the 6 cat setup. This is so damn stupid. I hate CA and their visual inspection,.

take it to a different shop. the 99s had 6 cats.

Alright took it to different shop and got it done. There is even an emmisions sticker on the car stating it has 3 cats per side but the dick at the other smog place is still giving me a hard time about getting a refund. Called the Ford dealship again to try and get someone on the phone to verify the cat setup for my but no one seemed to know anything.

youre not gonna get a refund fron the first shop. they are not required to give you one. what you can do however, is file a formal complaint to the Califnoria Bureau of Automotive Repair stating that the first shop failed a passing vehicle. you will need to have receipts from both shops as well as the VIRs from both shops. the BAR will probably want you to go to a referee station to verify the second shops findings.

lol well the shop that didnt pass you, if found to be at fault, can get a fine, and the tech can lose his smog license.
