strongly considering a mac catback (tk9624). not looking to spend alot of money, so this option seems to be one of the best. i only have two concerns : one being how well the ball n socket system works as far as not leaking. two, how well do these 3" tips look poking out from the bumper. i'm wondering if they will look a little dinky up against my 295 rear tire. maybe not.

if you have pics of your 99-04 with these tips, please post them up.

oh, and i think this system has adjustable tips to where you can position exactly how far in or out they 'stick out'. or does it?

thanks guys.

Here are a couple different shots of my car to give you an idea. I don't have any really close up shots of the tips though. I have always been very fond of the rolled lip on the MAC tips.

Nope, and sounds like sex at full throttle. I used to have a MAC o/r h-pipe along with the MAC cat-back and while it sounded good the magnaflow catted x-pipe combined with the MAC cat-back sounds oh1 so much better.

Been on my car for over 4 years with no leaks and very little surface rust. It had been through 2 MN winters prior to me getting a DD (they salt the roads here... ugh).

They were kind of a PITA to adjust because I am very particular about how things look, so I had to be sure they were lined up and had the same angle against the ground and against the centerline of the car. There is lots of adjustability though and I think they are designed well for this purpose.

I easily had 4" either side of where they currently sit and another 2-3" up and down if necessary. To answer your question, they can be adjusted in and out as well.

I too

have had no leaks, and yeah they are kind of a bitch to align, the ball and socket system works well, just make sure you have a helper when you go to put the actual muffler piece on cause it's kind of hard to do with just two arms............I bought mine from brenspeed i think it was like 315 shipped....best deal I could find at the time. If you look on the classified over on corral.net, click on classifieds then go to exhaust....their is a thread in their on mac stuff that a company claims they will beat anyones price....so see what they can do for u.

Good advice here. I didn't have a helper when I did mine, so I used a back up jack to hold up the mufflers while I tightened everything else up.

thanks man. i will def check the boards over on corral and see what the best deal might be. i have a place in mind i will probably order from but never hurts to check a few other places.

i could part my hair in your paint n8dogg. i like the tips. i just wonder what they would look like inside the factory bumper cutouts.

Thanks :) I've seen lots of exhaust systems on the new edge stangs, and I have to say I think the 3.5" magnaflow tips looks the best. Not sure how good the rolled edges would look on a new edge. I think it has to do with the smooth lines of a 94-98 vs the edgy look of the 99-04's.

i have to agree with you, MF 3.5 do look great. however, the price goes way up for a MF kit and nearly almost any other kit that includes 3.5 tips. i think 3's will look ok, i just hate to spend quite a bit more money for another .5"

Try teh website planet magnaflow. They give you the opportunity to make an offer on a c/b, and I think they'll accept as low as $375 for the exhaust. That's definitely comparable to MAC and no drone :nice:

MAC's do sound like hot sex on a Saturday night though....

shew they are high on their catbacks : $539 for the magnapack, and thats the 'sale price' . id be afraid to offer something in the 3 hundreds. id get cussed out.

:p
