I have a 01 GT with the stock plugs still in it. I bought a set of NGK TR6 part number 4177 but after pulling the factorys out i noticed that they have only 4 threads on them and go into the nut part of the plug as to where the TR6's have threads all the way up. My question is will the TR6's work ???? Can any help me out here

As long as the NGK's are said to fit you shouldn't have problems. Most people just go with the Autolite copper plugs. A slight increase in performance but you trade longevity and they are cheaper.

I thought that there is one year or part of a year with a short threaded plug as you mentioned.
I would confirm that the NGK plug is right for your car.
Thats what i had heard too with a certin few or yrs that had a shorten plug. The guy a O reileys wasnt much help and there books dont cross refernce a colder plug. Stock is a TR55 according to there books. Just thought id ask around here and see if anyone ran into this problem before

ok the quick way you can tell is take one of your old plugs and put it sideby side with the new one.

if the plug is longer from the seat ( end of threads and the begining of the wrench flats) to the bottom of the threads then don't use them. if the seat to bottom of threads is the same go ahead.

what will happen is the plug will be lower in the combustion chamber and can cause driveablitiy issues..
