Need quick bell housing help!!

c-3 c-4

They will not fit. Don't put the c-3 I tried it twice What a nightmare. Search some old salvage yards ask some people who have older car where they go that's what I did. Found 2 C-4s one a core for 50 dollars and other for 125 dollars with 90 day warranty. In car now but darn out of warranty but going strong. While on this subject how do you work out the kickdown cable. Some sites say you need it some say not. I'm running without right now

not interested in the C3 tranny i just want the 2.3L bell the guy from PA racing which are supose to be ford tranny gurus he told me it should fit since the difference in the c3 and c4 was mainly internals.........

Looked at my c-3 has 8 bolts for mounting to trans. My core c-4 has 7 bolts. If the know of a way let me know by e-mail please. I personally have not tried. But I will try this weekend. If it will work let us all know c-3 are faily plentyful

?c-5

Have you found a c-5?. Yes c-5 almost identical Per my trans man that is what I got without the special lockup converter all greek to my about this.Outside looks same differances internally. If c-5 yes will work.

Got the trans and new filter and seals took to trans guy. Came out of ?year mustang.I seen the inside my filter would not fit he cleand original just a metal screen. I installed no dowel pins to 86 Cougar motor I put in a 89 coupe. I am no expert by no way this is the story.

Thats weird I'm pretty sure the C4/C5 bells will interchange because my trans brake C4 is actually a later case with a ford number matching a C5.
Still very likely the chances of finding a 2.3 bell.
You did use a dowel pin of some kind correct?

I unbolt my c-3 from the 2.3t in the car Lined c-4everything up no dowel pin change bolted it up. modified harness so it would plug into mustang so neutralswitch and reverse lights work. borrowed a driveshaft now have motorsport aluminium driveshaft.Had to extend one trans line.I modified original 89 mustang shift so car looks normal inside. It was automatic.
