Just bought a set of I believe '2003 Cobra wheels for my '98 GT. Got ready to mount them, and it appears that the front wheel dust cap hits the SVT center cap on the wheel. Anybody encounter this, and know an effective fix for it? I thought of spacers, but hated to have something else on the wheel, and also didn't know what that would do to the wheel clearance on the car.

Thanks

Mark

That's an odd one. The dust cap shouldn't come anywhere near the wheel centercap.

Can you take pictures of it at all?? Specifically the backside of the rim and the dust cap on the rotor?

try some different dust caps or if there is enought room hit the caps with a hammer until they fit. just dont get all caveman on it and screw it up. if that doesnt work then measure it and get the thinnest spacers possible.

oh and my friens had the same problem with saleen wheels on his 88 lx. the caps stayed in but stuck out about 1/8 of an inch. the caps for the saleens and the cobra wheels have a different mounting type i believe.

I'm just a dumbass. The wheel slips over a 1/4" lip on the hub, and there was just enough rust on the hub that it wouldn't easily slide on. I finally figured that out after buying spacers at two stores and calling my mechanic. God, they do look sweet on the car. It looks better, rides better, handles better, and is quieter. What a deal!
