took the stang to a 1/8th mile track last friday best time was 9.87 at 72 mph.
thats with 245 kuhmos not bad i guess .leaving the line at idle shifting to second at about 3 grand and third around 5500 rpms buddy said i was still spinning at half track.tried hitting 4th gear on my best pass but missed it pretty bad.going back to night gonna get some 100 octane and try and borrow some 10.5`s from a buddy ,if not then i`ll try letting some air out of the wiennys and have fun .hope to get a high to mid 8 second pass in if i get the slicks on .still lots of stuff wanted to add to my setup.here is a list of my mods and some stuff thats still stock. oh yeah it a 87 notch back with speed density but mass air conversion coming soon found a guy with puter ,harness ,and a c@l mass sensor for $300

.512 .533 lift .220 duration comp cams./5 speed 3.73 /egual length headers
.020 shaved off heads 3 angle valve job/offroad h pipe /dual flowmasters
matching double valve springs with the usual head work/
new 19# FMS injectors MSD 6AL 6 grand limiter chip
1.6 ford racing roller rockers new comp push rods sitting on pedastels
stock TB upper/lower starving for more air

I can give you some advice. If you get some slicks or some cheater slicks, you are bound to drop your et. Dont be surprised if your MPH drops some too. This is common. If you drop the ET through traction, then you drop your MPH. If you drop your ET through power increase, your MPH goes up. Rule of thumb, not always true!

BTW if you experience no pining, then 100 octane is not going to help.

As far as stangnet goes, this is the best forum out there. This is the tech page where you post technical questions and technical suggestions.

Looking at your sig, there is info on here about porting the lower intake to make more flow. There are also people on here that do it for a reasonable fee. Looks like you are doing well already with your car.

what altitude are you at?

before i'd jump to a set of slicks or anything, try to get some seat time and just practice! stock 87+ cars can generally run in the mid-low 9s on street tires with some practice.

If that motor is almost stock- 100 octane gas is making you slower.

I think good tires are a must if you want to be competitive at drag racing. Be aware that you are supposed to get a driveshaft saftey loop for any car running slicks. You are supposed to have C-Clip eliminators also, but they cant check for that. I dont have any. I really need to get some.
