Not to mention 19lb fuel injectors are a dime a dozen even if you didn't have a set.

what other mods do you have? I asked the same about a cobra intake on my setup, and with my mods (in sig) people were telling me in the range of 15-25 hp.

You won't really see much out of this intake until you get a good set of heads on there.....which I'm hoping is in the cards. And unless you plan on pushing your car past 300hp N/A, I wouldn't bother swapping out your injectors either. The 19lb/hr units will serve you fine for now.

Did you get the intake, and if so how much did you get it for?

I will be going to go pick it up as soon as his painter is done with it. He said it is being painted mettalic silver...so it might look alright. we made a deal at $500 with everything in the pics....but he didn't get the injectors

Any visible cracks, heavy corrosion inside the water passages, or deep kicks/gouges in the intake face where it seals to the head itself (something the intake gasket might not seal). Visually inspect the rails and throttle body for similar types of imperfections. Otherwise, you should be fine.

Roland,

That is a good deal with all the extras. I really like the looks of mine. Yes, you are limited to the power level at the motor, but to me it is still the best looking intake they made. The silver should look good as long as the raw metal wasn't wavy.

The only thing I can think to check at the moment is the front and back mounting holes for the upper. As I have seen some that have crack from being over tightened.

he just told me he got it back from paint and it looks real good.
he want's me to come get it like now. I told him I will go and pick it up tomorrow or Thursday after work.
Then he tells me he is leaving the province on friday. so he would deliver for an extra $25....I just told him I will come and get it most likely tomorrow.
I asked if any of the bolt holes were damaged or cracked or anything goofy like that and he told me he looked over everything with a fine tooth comb and it is in awsome shape....
I will hopefully own it tomorrow, maby I can squeeze a little better deal out of him

Yes, Roland is it the same type plate. When I bought my car it had the original stock TB and Plate attached to the GT40 and it was working fine. A 65 mm matches a little better with the opeing. I think the opening is 68mm or 70mm, but don't quote me on that.

Now you need to see if you can find a top cover plate for it. It is not necessary of course, but they do look better with it. Everyone I have ever seen has been expensive though.

the fact is this, any time you see an intake test at 6000 rpms or less the GT-40 is still used as the standard. Even though my new Dart 347 will have a Eddy EFI 5.0 on it I still cant bring my self to sell my well ported GT-40. In most 5500 - 6000 rpm 8.2 deck motors the GT-40 will make more torque where you need while giving up minimal horsepower. Plus that is still the best looking intake out there. As for the comment about it being a glorified explorer intake, just look at the difference in runner volume of the tubular upper compared to any other GT-40 based intake. Infact I would love to see what the difference between my 2 intakes would be on my new motor if I had the money to burn.
