Infact I would love to see what the difference between my 2 intakes would be on my new motor if I had the money to burn.

My victor is OOTB and the GT-40 is ported to match the upper plenum gasket, and on the other end I believe it was ported to match a certain gasket size, but I cant remember what size it was any more. The previous owner had the work done to it. My gut tells me that the GT-40 will make more torque but at a lower rpm, while the horsepower will be close between the 2 to about 5800 where the victor will pull away, but my gut has mislead me before.

I think so to. I was almost going to pass it up but once I thought about it there is almost $500 worth of extras with it.

I ended up getting my gt40 tubular for another $200 when it was included with the vortech s trim. $1200 for both. I'm just going to get it powdercoated and I should be good to go.

That is a very good intake and with a little work, will make great power on heads up through 250cfm.

if the cam is chosen correctly it will work well as described (read "low-mid range rpm up to mid 5,000s") - the extra cubes will take more duration in the cam without being "too" lumpy. Something in the range of 290 degrees - but get help in the choice from a good cam specifier. The Lightening uses one on GT40 heads wityh much less cam.

AFAIK all the cobra lowers i.e cobra, gt-40 and explorer lowers are all identical and their uppers are pretty much the same, only varying a few CFM? tmoss may need to comfirm this i havent reasearched gt40 stuff in a while.

btw that intake does look cool and IIRC they arent making it anymore? but if your looking for just power and not looks... if an explorer intake is pretty much the same intake, you could get that. but if you want the cool look that seems like a good deal.

Afr posted a notice to posters

"Important: Do not port match you intake manifold to Fel-Pro gasket as it does not precisely fit AFR heads."

http://www.airflowresearch.com/185sbf_sh.php

close to bottom of page.

Should I select a different cylinder head? I will be using the f303 cam with 1.72 rocker arms.

the AFR hads have a larger radius in the corners, that is why they say not to use a 1250 gasket with it's small radius corners. The AFR head is exactly the height and width of a 1250, just need to get the larger radius in it. No need to use different heads.

lol this is back. Well still here under my desk and looking cool still. I never really filled everyone in on the condition it was in. Looks like new. so stains inside the lower or nothing. and after a little research the rails are "behind bars" fuel rails

here are a few pics I took a few weeks ago with my new Camera.
