My current set up is a 302 bored .30 over bought a kit from summit with RPM performer heads and intake and cam. The heads i think are 60cc chamber with 170cc intake. I was satisfied with that for a while. Then got bored. Went with a procharger running 14psi of boost. 3 core intercooler. 42lb injectors. Also had the car sct tuned. I dont know what horsepower i am making but when racing a guy with a around 425 motor horsepower. I only pull on him when i hit about 5500 RPMs so then i shift and he pulls on me. I feel like my car should be making more power. Do you think my heads are restricing me, or possibly the intake. I am tight on funds so would a port and polish be enough to get some major horsepower or is it not worth the time.

Post a dyno graph if you have one. A procharger is a centrifugal unit for the 5.0 engine, meaning you are not seeing full boost until the highest end of your RPM range. I'm guessing you are not at full power output until around the 5000 rpms.

The only way to tell is to take it to the track. Street racing is lame. You are shifting and dropping significantly out of your power band, thus losing ground to your friend.

I would send your intake to a shop for porting. Tom Moss (TMoss) does excellent work and he posts here. Serious bang for the buck.

I dont have the dyno paperwork. When i got it dyno tuned we ran into a problem of spark being blown out at 4500 rpms when the boost really kicked in. So i had a choice wait for it to cool to regap the plugs and get charged 150 an hour to wait for it to cool while sitting on the dyno, and then and then get charged for another pull. The tech just took what he had seen in the past and graphed me what he thought the car would need for fuel and programmed the chip for that. He told me he made sure it wouldnt be lean at all, so if anything im rich, but no a/f guage to prove that. So from what i can tell i need to have the intake ported out. Any ideas about the heads, are they big enough, or should i have them ported out too.
