My Dad's friend just bought a 96 Honda Civic hatchback(very cheap) (non vtec) and it has no factory tach.....he had a 5" tach from another car he had and wanted me to help hook it up. I just need to know what wire to hook the tach wire to on the car....I looked around on the net and couldn't really find anything anyone here know or maby know where a good ricer site I could look and see if I can find something.

He didn't really want to get a honda but the price was right and the car is almost mint. The owner thought it had a blown head gasket so he kept adding coolant for a while....sold it to my dad's friend and he got looking where the coolant was going and it ended up being the lower rad hose clamp was rotten and under pressure )when driving) the coolant would leak out pretty fast lol.

You will pick up a pulse from the blue wire on the distributor. Wire the the switched (to an ignition source in the fuse block); the lights to the dimmer; and the ground to a good metal contact. Hope this helps.

why is he putting a tach on a civic... when it already had a factory tach.... you are "contributing to the act of a ricer" 348-78-4 section 3 in your anti-rice handbook.

Oh that's different. That is outlined in the provisions at the bottom of section 4. :jester: Your off the hook.

now if he was putting 4 or 5 volt gauges (easy to hook up and gives the race car apperance) in pod's everywhere inside that would be "contributing to the act of a ricer" 49869-987598-99.4 section 69 in My anti-rice handbook
