Hows everyone doing? Well I'm a newcomer here and a Mustang lover ever since I purchased my Mustang 3 years ago. I own a 2000 Ford Mustang 3.8L, i did want the GT but my insurance was going to charge me an arm and a leg so couldn't do it. Anyway, I have made various modification and the one big step i'm going to do is install a Turbo instead of the traditional supercharger. I'm not to knowledgeable with the Turbo systems. What type of other modifications will i have to do to ensure i get the most out of any turbo that I will chose?
Thanks!

my modifications I have are:
Cold Air Intake
MSD Ignition System
Exhaust System (H-Pipe)
Super Chip
Additional Grounding System
17" Cobra R Rims
Steeda Sway Bars (Front/Rear)
Replaced Overdrive Pulley

Not a bad idea (for the turbo... I mean)

You'll need (and I know this 'cause my brother has a toyota supra TT, and various friends of mine have turbo cars. etc. etc.)

1. Turbo system  (may include custom headers)
2. Intercooler (2 1/2'' in 3'' out piping)
3. Blow off valve (Two if you go twin turbos)
4. Tuning (Means you might have to loose your chip... dont know)
5. AFC (Air fuel controller)
6. Boost controller
7. Turbo timer
8. Forged internals (May not need... but good to have)
9. Ported head work (May not need... but good to have)
10. Air fuel ratio gauge
11. Boost pressure gauge
12. T-LOK (Would help)
13. Different gearing (You may not need them)
14. External Wastegate (If you have it open that thing will roar!)
15. Bigger fuel injectors
16. Bigger fuel pump
17. Bigger MAF (maybe... they might be able to fix it in with the tuning)
18. Suspension work (springs, shocks, strut tower, subframes...etc. etc.)
19. Performance clutch or a performance torque converter (for autos)

go visit www.extremev6racing.com a few guys there have/are building turbo 3.8s and theyll have some good insight.

i dont know too much about the turbo setup but you WILL NEED forged internals and most likely port and polished heads and upper and lower intake manifolds, better tranny or beefed up tranny, 8.8 mustang gt rear end(youll shred the stock one to peices making big hp)

You don't have to have forged internals if you keep the boost low, say 6 psi, and have a good tune.

^ thats tru you dont NEED them if boost is low and you have a great tune im just one of those rather be safe then sorry guys and am a firm beleiver in forging before boost. also i think everyone will agree on how addicting boost is and youll always want more. so lemme rephrase my first statement. i HIGHLY RECOMMEND forged internals :nice:
