im still working on getting some issues fixed with my car but in some "testing" lol, i had some one tire fire going on. it would start with posi but when i grab the brake it would slip to one.
here is the issue, do i rebuild or replace?
i have to go into it to do the five lug swap that i already have setting around so, what would you do?
if you say replace is the true trac the best?

If you want to upgrade I like the Eaton its rebuildable and has carbon fiber clutches....put 1000hp/tq through it.

It's only an inch or two. What's the big deal?

You probably just need some fresh clutches. Cheap fix. What do you mean by "grabbing the brake"?

I doubt you'll ever have any problem with it unless you put a stupid amount of power to it. I've gotten pretty silly with a nasty 357 and a transbrake and never broke a differential. Try these guys. They sell good stuff, I've used them several times.

The 1650 HP orange/black car had an 8.8. Granted, it was far from stock, axle tubes were welded and braced, tied into a diff cover that bridged the two axle braces. Billet caps, Pro gears, 35 spline axles, w/ a full spool.
Blahdy-blah-blah.

It was a turbo car w/ an auto on drag radials, so it wasn't as hard as it could've been on the rear, and I may have just been lucky, but, ........

I wouldn't worry about hurting the one you have. I'd do like Allen suggested and freshen up the one you have.

Unless you plan on building something w/.......... a little more power
